上海滩租界大亨钱正雄名震江湖，急公好义，盛得众望。有女白相人罗秋兰，现于赌场行骗度日，多次蒙难，幸得钱正雄相救，遂感恩图报。时值日军侵华，上海沦陷，钱正雄爱国不甘后人登高一呼，救济万民，带领一帮兄弟与日军展开了一场可歌可泣的斗争……。Morse finds himself the subject of a murder investigation when his friend, Beryl Newsome, is murdered at a rehearsal of the Magic Flute and he foolishly touches the murder weapon. Morse is suspended and DCI Bottomley, with DS Lewis assisting him, is put in charge of the case.
